Sankore AI Club is launching the “1,000 Ideas” series: a collaborative initiative designed to collect and share practical ideas on how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can help solve real problems faced by communities.

Each series may focus on a specific theme, such as:

1,000 ideas for using AI to improve education
1,000 ideas for transforming agriculture
1,000 ideas for creating jobs for young people
1,000 ideas for improving healthcare
1,000 ideas for solving the challenges of the Sahel

The ideas will come from people themselves: students, researchers, professionals, entrepreneurs, community members and anyone who understands a problem and has a possible solution.

If you are preparing a thesis, developing a project, participating in a hackathon, creating a startup or looking for a research topic, you may select one of the published ideas and develop it further. Please acknowledge the person who proposed the idea and credit Sankore AI Club as the platform through which it was shared.

An idea should not disappear after it is published. If you conduct research, build a prototype, launch a project or take any action that helps move an idea forward, let us know. Share a link to the original post and tell us what you are doing so that the community can follow the idea’s progress, contribute and collaborate.

This is how we share knowledge and build together: connecting those who understand the problems, those who generate ideas, those who can research them, those who can finance them and those who can turn them into reality.

One person may have the idea. Another may have the technical skills. Another may have the resources. Another may know the community where the solution is needed.

Progress begins when they find one another.
